Jon Pardi Opens Up About Fitness, Family, and Country Music Journey During Running Interview

Kate Mack, the host of a show, recently invited country music star Jon Pardi for a workout before the show. It was a mix run and a keto conversation between them where he shared Pardi’s life, career, and how important it was for him to keep being active. Their talk was part of Mack’s running series and was a rare glimpse into the artist’s inner motivations personally and in terms of success values. Pardi narrated his story, moving from his musical roots to the little things that make life on the road pleasant.

The run took place in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Pardi was grateful for the lovely day and the East Coast’s rare atmosphere. He had been living on the West Coast and in Nashville for a while, and the singer was asked to compare the places. Pardi responded, ‘None can hold a candle to California’ but then he recognized it as ‘a great place to have fun and make music.’ People’s spirits were described by the singer as ‘we need to have a party every night.’

The treadmill run and the talk about fitness turned into a different topic when Mack and Pardi reached Pardi’s meal plan for the day. He mentioned that a video of him and his wife Summer Pardi running with their kids went viral and has over 9 million views. ‘Summer and I, we like to keep fit for each other, as it is a long journey of life,’ he said. In his profession, he claimed that aerobic training is the key. ‘They are the mimics, live singing done the best. I dance, and I see if I keep up with the cardio, my singing and performing become better.’

When he was asked if he takes professional dance lessons, Pardi’s response was both assertive and modest: ‘Naturally baby. No, but I’ve had some dance classes.’

They moved on to his being a musician next. Pardi credited his grandmother for introducing him to country music. He narrated how he started singing at the age of three, and shortly after he was given a guitar. The best advice she ever gave him was so simple yet so supportive, ‘Go John Go.’ In no time, his most popular song, ‘Head Over Boots,’ was written, with the fun and love Pardi associating with Texas dance halls being among his inspirations.

‘I have always wanted to be heard there,’ he admitted, and besides, he thought that concerts should be a place where people can relax and have a good time.

Pardi also reflected on the start of his career when everyone was so sweet to him, and he even named Eric Church as an artist who was concerned and took interest. Pardi recalled, ‘Eric Church was one, he brought something on tour, brought us compliments, and made us feel good.’

The singer made a statement that was very much to the point of what he believed a winner’s just a loser who try one more time. Pick your head up, get back at it, and go get the win.’

One of the first thoughts that came to Pardi’s mind when he was asked what he would say to his 22-year-old self was already filled with humor, ‘Cut your hair.’ He described his teenage look as ‘long, fluffy hair.’ To conclude the high-energy session, Pardi next challenged female country star Kelsey Ballerini to take a run with him.

The interview had a strong impact on the audience. Someone mentioned that Pardi’s music was a very deep personal connection for him and added that he had always loved the singer and that his wedding song was ‘All-time high.’ This sentiment clearly indicates that the artist’s work is like a soundtrack for people’s important moments. Another person praised the hostess for her multitasking skills, saying, ‘This girl is running and interviewing at the same time, and she deserves a raise.’ A different commenter said that he/she is a fan of only one song, ‘Borrowed time’ she/he named ‘the best under appreciated Jon Pardi song’ while pointing out that the artist has a very rich catalog besides the biggest ones.

One of the strongest signs of a user who shared a personal story about meeting the artist was his attachment to the negative side of things when Pardi’s Christmas show ended and the family that was with him was invited backstage, saying, ‘What a nice guy.’ It couldn’t be more in line with the no-frills and gratefulness in Pardi’s personality portrayed during the running interview, saying that his success was indeed based on a solid foundation of real connection and hard work events.
