Woods recently displayed her latest date-night look on Instagram: a blue fitted stretch-jersey midi dress in an abstract print, with a side slit. The sleeveless design — the work of London-based womenswear label Farai London — features four asymmetrical front cutouts that extend to the back.
Woods added a mini blue Birkin bag to her look. Her hair was styled in a sleek high bun, allowing every detail of the dress to shine, and her only accessories were small hoops and three bracelets. The Farai London design made for a suitable date-night look, with its figure-skimming silhouette and flirty cutouts.
Since emerging on the fall 2021 runways, cutouts have proven an enduring trend, adding a retro flair to everything from knit dresses to fitted trousers.
Woods joins a fashionable lineup of celebrities who have helped bring the 2000s-inspired trend to the mainstream; Dua Lipa did it with front cut-out pants, while Megan Fox wowed in a lavender cut-out top. Halle Bailey’s recent backless dress suggests a fresh way to transition the cutout trend to spring, while Woods presented an artful date-night ensemble.
