An alumna of the Real Housewives of New York, Killoren Bensimon herself embodies some candid and so real dating advice-if any sort of advice at all really-has to have an opinion on this. She has given a batch of relatable wisdom in matters of dating, sneaking into the bathroom, and a whole slew of other awkward topics not discussed enough.

Here comes the tea: according to Kelly, if your date is bringing along their cell phone to the bathroom, they do not give a hoot about you or they must be finding you boring. She said, “In my humble opinion, and in my experience, if someone’s going to the bathroom, they’re bigger, better dealing you.” In other words, they are texting somebody else or just not really feeling the date. Everything else from me, Kelly says, “I want you to have bound reasons to lose,” meaning that every single one of you out there should know your worth and walk away from these lukewarm experiences.
Okay, so one thing we have to add. For that flawless, camera-ready look, she gave a shoutout to her hairstylist, @christhair. Because, really, if you are going to put down such huge truths, you have got to look fabulous.
As the commentary began, the comments had opinions. One comment agreed with every word said, and they complimented Kelly on her hair, desperately wanting to know who the colorist was. Another said, “I’m here for the tips! Aussie female seeking male,” conspiring that Kelly’s dating wisdom has crossed oceans.
However, another one said, “Not sure you should be giving dating advice,” which was followed by Kelly responding, “I go on tons of dates. I should know.” Period.
Then a little back-up came in. A couple of commenters were reminding each other about the dangers of leaving one’s cell phone on the table if security is a matter of concern. “Your phone has everything on it—bank account, business contacts,” said one. And the other went, “If I am going to the ladies’ room, my phone will be in my purse and I am taking my purse with me. That’s normal behavior.” Fair enough.
And then came the funniest comeback: “He could be going to message his mum to tell her to buy a hat!” Because honestly, sometimes a bathroom break is just a bathroom break.
Kelly’s view might be highly controversial-or highly revered-but it is definitely creating a stir. Agree to them or not, what is clear is that the dating game in 2024 is full of hurdles, and Kelly is here to narrate all the chaotic moments. Love it!
So maybe the very next time the guy excuses himself or herself to the restroom, you might want to see if that phone is held tighter than a life line. Or just chill with your appetizer and assume he or she is texting their mom about hats. Either way, Kelly has got the back, at least for your dating drama.
