Latto Gifts Cardi B a Chanel Bag

It’s no secret that celebrities have an impact on our style choices and recently, Cardi B and Latto gave us another reason to go shopping. On June 29, Cardi B took to Twitter to show off her blue-green Chanel handbag, gifted by the “Big Energy” artist. The new bag is another addition to Cardi’s vast Chanel purse collection, including baby blue and pink styles. “This purse tho 😱💙…..Thanks @Latto,” she captioned the post.

The rapper’s accessory is a unique take on the brand’s signature diamond-quilted caviar leather bag, with a gold chain shoulder strap, the iconic CC logo in light gold, and a shiny finish. The blueish-green color is reminiscent of the ocean, and perhaps a nod to the mermaidcore trend that’s currently sweeping Hollywood.

Although the reason for Latto’s almost $10,000 gift to the “WAP” rapper remains unknown, it’s not entirely unusual for the artist. In her recent Cosmopolitan feature, Latto discussed how much she loves to spoil her family and friends, setting the bar for us all. “I send my assistant to Chanel to get, like, ten bags for everybody I know. I’m obsessed.” Moreover, the two female rappers have a positive relationship after working together on “Put It On Da Floor Again,” a remix of the 24-year-old’s TikTok-viral hit.

In the same interview, she also cited Cardi B as a huge inspiration, specifically when it comes to motherhood. “Cardi did it too. And Yung Miami. I feel like they kind of supersede the stigma that it’s over for women when you have a baby — like your career is over,” she told the publication.
