Liverpool transfer news – Ozan Kabak blow, Rodrigo De Paul claim, Virgil van Dijk talks
Liverpool transfer news, rumours, gossip and speculation including latest on Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah Rodrigo De Paul, Jadon Sancho, Yves Bissouma and more.

Liverpool head to Old Trafford on Thursday seeking a first win at Manchester United under Jurgen Klopp.

Get the three points in that one and the Champions League places could be in sight – though Manchester United’s crazy schedule means they face Leicester on Tuesday night in a clash that will impact Liverpool too, with the Foxes also in top-four contention.

Guy Clarke is joined by Paul Gorst, Sean Bradbury and Matt Addison as they discuss the latest in the race for fourth place and predict what might happen against Ole Gunnar Solakjaer’s side.

They also put forward the Reds XIs they would like to see take to the field and make their match predictions for Thursday’s game.

Ozan Kabak remains a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League trip to Manchester United on Thursday having missed the weekend victory over Southampton with a minor injury.

That is according to Paul Joyce of The Times, who is reporting that Fabinho could move back into defence from midfield for the game.

Jurgen Klopp offered an update on the fitness of James Milner, Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies before Saturday’s win over Southampton.

With Millie, it’s not a big thing but I expect him back maybe next week or something like that.

“With Ozan, we don’t know exactly, we have to wait and see a little bit. It’s a muscle thing, it happened without any real intensity but still serious enough for not being involved. The same for Ben Davies.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that Everton and Liverpool fans will be allowed to return to Goodison Park and Anfield this month.

The PM confirmed in his latest update that supporters would be allowed back into stadiums in England for the first time in 2021.

As a result, every team will now play one home match in front of their supporters, with games scheduled to take place on May 18-19 and Sunday, May 23.

“I can confirm today we have met the four tests for further easing lockdown restrictions.

“We’ll unlock the turnstiles to our sports stadia, subject to capacity limits.”

Juventus have been warned that failure to withdraw from the much-maligned Super League proposal will see them barred from competing in Serie A next season.

Juve – along with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid – are yet to officially stand down from the competition that was launched last month.

And Gabriele Gravina, head of the Italian Football Association, has informed the Bianconeri that their participation in the 2021-22 campaign is at risk.

The rules are clear. If Juventus is still part of the Super League when it enters next season, it can’t participate in Serie A.

“I would be sorry for the fans but rules are rules and they apply to everyone. I hope this holdout ends soon.”

Liverpool continue to be linked with Jadon Sancho.

THe latest report from ESPN says that the Reds are interested in the Borussia Dortmund forward, but would have to sell one of Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah to bring him to Anfield.

By now, Mohamed Salah will be used to having his every word analysed at Liverpool, writes Paul Gorst.

The Reds superstar speaks only sporadically, so when he does, his statements are often dissected to the nth degree from media and fans alike.

As a result, a handful of relatively routine interviews over the last few months have caused something of a storm in a teacup on the outside.

A chat with AS in December made headlines of varying angles from Salah’s perspective as he opened up shortly before the Reds’ 7-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Perhaps the main takeaway from that was the claim that his Liverpool future “was in the club’s hands”.

A subsequent interview with Norwegian station, TV2, the following month, reiterated that stance from the Salah camp.

Liverpool will be allowed up to 10,000 fans back inside Anfield for the final game of the season at home to Crystal Palace after the council gave the green light to government plans for restricted attendances.

Liverpool City Council’s Ground Safety Group announced they had approved the decision on Monday ahead of the Reds last 2020/21 Premier League fixture which takes place at 4pm on Sunday May 23.
