Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actress Kathryn Newton is preparing to sink her teeth into a creature feature that will see her swap ground insects for underwater predators. The Marvel star has secured a major role in a shark survival thriller helmed by Jeff Wadlow, the director of Kick-Ass 2, Fantasy Island, and Imaginary. Newton will headline the upcoming film, titled Devil’s Mouth, alongside Lana Condor, who is best known for her role in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, but also starred in the recently unshelved Coyote Vs. Acme.
Newton is no stranger to scares, having starred in two acclaimed horror movies (among other titles) just last year, hot on the heels of her heroic turn in the MCU’s third Ant-Man film. The first was the “coming of rage love story” Lisa Frankenstein, which saw her in the titular role opposite Cole Sprouse, and the second was the hit vampire flick Abigail, the latest movie to reinvent Universal’s classic monsters, putting a modern spin on Dracula’s Daughter. Newton is also set to lead Ready or Not 2 alongside fellow scream queen Samara Weaving.
More to come…
