Bradley Cooper and Will Arnett, whom both have known each other for a long time outside of Hollywood, have built quite the resume with an abundance of acting and producing accomplishments, and now they’re set to come together on a new project. Per a report from Deadline, the two of them are developing and starring in new film Is This Thing On? from Searchlight Pictures, with Cooper to also direct the feature.
Is This Thing On? is the latest creative collaboration between Will Arnett and Bradley Cooper, and as it’s very early on in development there are very few details available in terms of the plot or any other rumors of casting. While Cooper will both star and sit in the director’s chair for this film, Arnett is co-starring with him and co-writing the script with Mark Chappell (See How They Run). Not only that, they’re co-producing with Kris Thykier, while John Bishop is executive producing. Production on the film is likely to remain at a relative standstill due to the ongoing WGA strike, though Arnett managed to turn in an initial draft of the script before the picketing began. Both him and Cooper will do what they can with it in the meantime, as Chappell won’t be able to until the strike ends.

Will Arnett has long been a fixture in both film and television, both in front of and behind the camera. His breakout role was in the comedic sitcom Arrested Development, which he has reprised on and off from its premiere in 2003 up to 2019. From there, he went on to star in numerous other popular sitcoms, from NBC’s 30 Rock (2007), to Running Wilde (2010), Up All Night (2011), The Millers (2013), and has made appearances in NBC’s award-winning mockumentaries Parks and Recreation and The Office. Most recently he’s served as executive producer on Netflix’s adult animated comedy Bojack Horseman, as well as comedic murder-mystery Murderville. He’s also working on Peacock’s upcoming videogame adaptation Twisted Metal, set to premiere on July 27.
Award-winning actor and producer Bradley Cooper ironically also got his big break through comedy as well. His appearance in Wedding Crashers (2005) and The Hangover (2009) caught the attention of fans and directors alike, and he’s since proven himself incredibly capable of diversifying his talent, going on to appear in more dramatic roles like sci-fi action thriller Limitless (2011) which saw him go toe to toe with Robert de Niro, and later they’d unite in Silver Linings Playbook (2011), which earned him an Oscar nod. Most recently he’s reprised his role as Rocket in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, currently in theaters. While also serving as producer on the upcoming DCU sequel Joker: Foile a Deux, he’s also developing a film alongside Martin Scorcese, Todd Phillips and Steven Spielberg titled Maestro, which will chronicle the life of composer and humanitarian Leonard Bernstein.
