A new batch of posters for the upcoming Marvel sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, put the focus on beloved member Rocket Raccoon. Released via Marvel Studios, the posters tease the IMAX, ScreenX, and Real 3D releases of the MCU outing, which promises to peel back the curtain on the mysterious Rocket and center on his tragic backstory. Check out the new posters for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 below.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 picks up with the gang, and particularly Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, still reeling from the loss of Gamora. Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Thus, Quill must rally his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own once again and, if the mission is not completely successful, it could possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
Once again written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will put the spotlight on Guardians of the Galaxy staple Rocket Raccoon, with the filmmaker declaring recently that the character has always been “the secret protagonist” of the franchise and felt he had to return one last time to tell Rocket’s tale.
“The most important thing for me was Rocket’s story, and then, following that, everybody else,” Gunn explained. “Rocket is the secret protagonist of the Guardians of the Galaxy and has always been the centre of it for me; and this is really fulfilling that. The reason I came back, and decided to do this movie, was because I really felt like Rocket’s story needed to be told – and it was left hanging after Vol 2. So that’s the most important thing.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Will Bring This Era of the Team to an End
Marvel Studios
With James Gunn now busy over at DC Studios as the newly appointed co-chief and co-CEO, this is likely to be his final time helming a movie for Marvel. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is also expected to be the final outing for the stars involved, including Dave Bautista, with the threequel all set to bring this era of the intergalactic superhero team to an end.
Star Chris Pratt has likened the conclusion to leaving school saying, “It’s been an incredible ten years. So to wrap it up in this way, it’s, it’s a little bit like your last day of school when you’re a senior. You’re so excited that it’s over, but at the same time, you don’t know if you’re going to see any of your friends ever again. Some of them are going off to college, and some of them are leaving, and some are going in the Army. It’s like entering a new phase, and a new chapter of your life. It’s the turning of a page. So it’s exciting, but it’s emotional.”
Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 5, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
