Jesse Eisenberg Will Play a Sasquatch for Next Movie Role

Actor Jesse Eisenberg will step into his strangest role yet with his recent casting as a Sasquatch in an upcoming film. Nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in The Social Network, Eisenberg can be recognized from a number of other movies including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Now You See Me 1 & 2, and the Zombieland movies. He has also slipped behind the camera this year for his directorial feature film debut with the release of When You Finish Saving the World, which recently screened at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Per Variety, Eisenberg spoke about his new film, in which he directs his Zombieland co-star Emma Stone alongside Julianne Moore and Finn Wolfhard. Eisenberg recalled how many “bad notes” he’d been given throughout his career and was concerned he’d wind up doing the same with his cast for When You Finish Saving the World. It all worked out, however, with Eisenberg offering praise to the on-screen veteran Moore.

“I’ve received so many bad notes in my life as an actor. I was so unnecessarily fearful that I’d be giving them to my actors… [Juliane Moore is] the best. [She gravitates toward characters who are] very cold and very warm at the same time, their coldness [coming] from their own insecurities rather than their own malice.”

In the interview, Eisenberg also happens to reveal the next movie role he is set to portray. This will be for a movie from David and Nathan Zellner, and while Eisenberg doesn’t reveal the title, he says that he will be playing a Sasquatch. He’ll be going all-out with the character, which includes no spoken dialogue and getting covered from head to toe in Bigfoot-like fur.

“I play a Sasquatch: full makeup, full body hair, no lines. I grunt, but no lines. I’m so looking forward to this.”

Bigfoot, the legendary Sasquatch alleged to have been seen by different people in various locations for centuries, has served as inspiration for countless films. One of the most well-known examples is the comedy movie Harry and the Hendersons, though most Sasquatch movies are typically horror films. Some of the Bigfoot films released in recent years include Bigfoot Family, Bigfoot vs. the Illuminati, Sasquatch, and Bigfoot vs. Megalodon.

There have also been reality television shows made following “Sasquatch hunters” as they seek to once and for all prove the existence of Bigfoot. So far, none seem to have been successful, as there hasn’t been DNA or other irrefutable evidence yet introduced that has the scientific community convinced that the creature is real. But that won’t stop the legend from staying alive, as seen with continued sightings along with new movies continuing to come out featuring the famous furry primate.
