A sequel to 2021’s Without Remorse is in the works, which starred Michael B. Jordan as an ex-Navy SEAL who works with the CIA after his family is killed in a targeted assassination attempt. Few details have been revealed so far, except that the sequel will be titled Rainbow Six and that Jordan will return to star in the lead role. Most recently, the director has been announced: Chad Stahelski, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stahelski is known for directing the John Wick franchise and was a career stuntman before his directorial debut in 2014.
Without Remorse and Rainbow Six are based on espionage books written by the late Tom Clancy. His books have been adapted into films before, most notably with The Hunt For Red October in 1990. The Rainbow Six novel was released in 1998 and has spawned a series of video games.

Without Remorse received mixed reviews from critics, with negative reception for its predictable and formulaic plot, but praise for Jordan’s performance and its fierce action sequences. The film was in development soon after the novel was published in 1993, and had gone through several different writers, directors, and actors before finally being released on Prime Video on April 2021. It was directed by Stefano Sollima, who had previously worked on Sicario – Day of the Soldado.

Can the John Wick Director Re-Awaken the Rainbow Six Franchise?

While Without Remorse wasn’t particularly successful, it’s possible Chad Stahelski could bring new life back into the IP. He has received widespread acclaim for his work on the John Wick franchise, which is regarded by many as one of the best action film sagas of all time. As a career stuntman, Stahelski made sure a lot of work was put into the choreography of the fight scenes, many of which had as little cuts between shots as possible. Keanu Reeves did his own stunts in the film and went through extensive training to do so.
In addition to Without Remorse and John Wick: Chapter 4, Stahelski is also set to direct the Highlander remake starring Henry Cavill, in addition to a film adaptation of the video game Ghost of Tsushima. He was the stunt double for Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, and also did stunt work for The Crow, Escape from L.A., The Dukes of Hazzard, I Am Legend, and Deadpool 2, along with dozens of other major action blockbusters.
Michael B. Jordan is also appearing in Creed III this spring, which will also mark his directorial debut.
Rainbox Six will star Michael B. Jordan, who is also set to produce the film along with Elizabeth Raposo, Akiva Goldsman, Greg Lessans, Joseph Appelbaum, and Andre Nemec. Chad Stahelski will direct the movie, although release date has not yet been announced.
