Tobey Maguire’s return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of the highlights of Marvel’s post-Endgame releases. Fans of the original big screen web-slinger have continued to cite Maguire as one of the greatest stars to swing through the streets of New York since his original appearance over two decades ago in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.
While the actor is now 20 years older, a recently surfaced video has revealed he has not lost his “Spidey-Senses,” as he quickly zoned in on a covert camera filming him during what appears to be a visit to a museum exhibit. The post, shared on X and other social media, instantly attracted the attention of Spider-Man fans who were quick to pick up the uncanny move’s resemblance to those of Maguire’s on-screen character.
As can be seen in the video shared by Culture Crave, Maguire spots the camera heading in his direction very quickly, leading the camera-holder to very swiftly divert the focus of their lens back on the exhibit itself. Looking at the stare they are given, who would blame them. When you are just trying to enjoy a day out at the museum though, it can obviously be a little obtrusive to have everyone attempting to catch a quick video.
Having teamed up with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland for Marvel’s multiverse crossing Spider-Man adventure, it is perhaps just another sign that Maguire was always perfectly cast in the role of Parker, and maybe has a few of his own mystical powers of observation.

Fans have waited many years to see both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as Marvel’s most iconic hero. For Maguire in particular, the return to one of his best known roles was a very emotional and reinvigorating. In the new book “Spider-Man: No Way Home – The Art of the Movie”, Maguire said:
“When they called initially… I was like, ‘Finally!’ I just feel grateful—I was really open, immediately, about coming to do this. Not without nerves! But to get to show up with talented, creative people and play together–it’s just a yes. There was such an open-heartedness to coming together and embracing each other and supporting each other that was really beautiful. And it was amazing to work again with Alfred [Molina] and Willem [Dafoe]. I just adore those guys and respect them as the great talents that they are and also just as lovely humans. It was a blast–it was like a reunion.”
Whether Maguire will find himself back in his Spider-Man costume again for the upcoming Secret Wars movie, which could end up being the biggest Marvel movie ever put on screen and will be the last opportunity for multiverse crossovers, is something that we are a few years from find out. But if he does get the call, it seems that he has certainly continued to hone his skills ready for it.
