Days after the release of a new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, another addition to the cast has been revealed. Per Variety, it has been revealed that William Jackson Harper has a role in the film as well, though the character he is playing is being kept tightly under wraps. Let the fans speculate at this point who he might be playing in the upcoming sequel, but as he’s not featured in the recent trailer, it could be that he’s a significant character whose introduction is being kept as a surprise for the film.
Harper was recently featured in main roles for the Peacock comedy series The Resort and the HBO series Love Life. He’s also been nominated for an Emmy for his role in the NBC series The Good Place. Last year, he co-starred with Aya Cash in the comedy We Broke Up following roles in other films like Midsommar, Dark Waters, and Lost Holiday. While he has yet to officially join a superhero tentpole, there were fans rooting for him to be cast when it was reported that a film following a Black Superman was in the works with Ta-Nehisi Coates writing the script.

“It definitely blindsided me,” Harper said of the fantasy casting on Jimmy Kimmel Live last year. “I was doing another interview and this guy was like, ‘Yeah, this got 55,000 likes,’ and I was like, ‘What? Why? Who knows me?’ But that would be dope. That would be the best thing that could happen to me, to be able to play Superman. [But] I don’t want to do the diet and the exercise.”

The recent trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also revealed a first look at Bill Murray joining the MCU alongside Harper, but it’s still not exactly clear who he will be playing either. They’re part of a cast that also includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Randall Park, and Jonathan Majors.
