Henry Cavil, known for playing DC‘s Superman and Geralt in The Witcher has returned to the first shop he ever bought Warhammer models from to celebrate a new series being given the greenlight by Amazon and Games workshop.
It was announced earlier this week that the Warhammer series would be going ahead, but “it’ll be some years” until fans get to see it, as “Project One is about to go into development proper. So, next up is the script/s that will form the basis of everything else to come.”
Cavil posted about his celebratory trip to the Little Shop in Jersey on Instagram. “To celebrate some Warhammer news, I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years ago….the Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey!”
He added: “My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together, we’ve been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop. That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret. Watch this space, though—more to come in time!”
Henry Cavil is a well-known gamer, and has also built his own gaming PC. His role as Superman and Geralt have cemented him as a comic and video game nerd amongst his fans, so many are excited about the prospect of him helming a Warhammer show. He even said “Pillows won’t be in the crib when the wee one arrives, just glue and scalpels so he or she can build Warhammer miniatures” when looking forward to the birth of his child.
In other news, The Witcher 4 might not feature hero Geralt, as his voice actor says: “It’s a complete mystery to me.”
