Night Sky Images Have J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek Admiring Their Own Private Planet

A handful of images have been released for Night Sky ahead of its release on Prime Video in May. The series stars J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man series, Oz) and Sissy Spacek (Carrie, Coal Miner’s Daughter), with the two discovering a strange passageway leading to a planet that the two decide to call their own, keeping it secret from the rest of the world. The first look images reveal a peek at both Simmons and Spacek in character, as well as the pair admiring their private planet, which may not be as private as initially thought.

Night Sky is a co-production of Amazon Studios and Legendary Television (Carnival Row, Paper Girls) and is written and co-executive produced by Holden Miller. Daniel C. Connolly serves as showrunner and executive produces with Mosaic’s Jimmy Miller and Sam Hansen, as well as Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Philip Martin. Along with Simmons and Spacek, the series also stars Adam Bartley, Julieta Zylberberg, Rocío Hernández, Kiah McKirnan, Kiah McKirnan, Beth Lacke, Stephen Louis Grush, and Cass Buggé.

Spanning space and time, Night Sky follows Irene (Sissy Spacek) and Franklin York (J.K. Simmons), a couple who, years ago, discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet. They’ve carefully guarded their secret ever since, but when an enigmatic young man (Chai Hansen) enters their lives, the Yorks’ quiet existence is quickly upended…and the mystifying chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be much more than they could ever have imagined.
