Puka Nacua on whether he wants to stay with Rams: ‘That’s the plan’

Puka Nacua is entering the final year of his rookie contract, which expires after the 2026 season. That means if he doesn’t sign a new contract before next March, he’s set to hit free agency. Nacua, one of the best wide receivers in football, has been a primary reason behind the team’s post-Super Bowl LVI success.

However, despite not having a deal in hand, Nacua remains committed to the goals of this season and he hopes to secure a long-term deal for the future. According to NFL reporter Arye Pulli, when questioned about whether he wants to remain in Los Angeles, Nacua recently stated that staying with the Rams is his intent.

“That’s the plan,” Nacua said at Fanatics Fest.

Nacua is entering the fourth year of his rookie contract, and despite other receivers around the league signing extensions, there’s still a backlog, so Nacua’s lack of a deal isn’t a major surprise. Nacua, along with the rest of his 2023 draft class on the Rams, has yet to sign an extension.

The Rams signed three extensions in 2025, with Kyren Williams signing his during the preseason, while Nate Landman and Quentin Lake signed theirs during the season. They also extended Kamren Curl before he could become a free agent this offseason.
