Reacher fans better get ready for an even wilder fourth season, as the upcoming entry will be based on one of Child’s most juicy and downright bonkers novels yet: Gone Tomorrow. Ritchson Reveals Reacher’s Next Thrilling Adventure

Prime Video

After facing off against arguably his biggest physical threat in the form of the brutal, seven-foot-two behemoth Paulie (played by bodybuilder Olivier Richters) in Season 3, everyone’s favorite TV hero, Reacher, is set to tackle an even bigger enemy in the upcoming latest installment of the Amazon series. The man of few words will find himself in quite the conundrum after he boards a New York City train with five other strangers in the middle of the night, with Ritchson himself teasing the mysterious premise of the fourth season on his Instagram:

“The thing about subway cars is you step on one and you never know what’s going to happen.”

REACHER Season 4 will be based on “Gone Tomorrow” by Lee Child

The new season will adapt Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in the bestselling book series that focuses on Reacher as he stumbles upon a troubled stranger while on a train in a brief meeting that ends in tragedy, with the fierce vigilante finding himself being pulled into a precarious situation and thrust into action as he squares off against ruthless foes at the highest levels. While the premise might sound straightforward enough, readers of the books know that things will take a bizarre and downright bonkers turn when it’s revealed that Reacher is dealing with a dangerous terrorist organization.

What Can Fans Expect From the Fourth Season?

Prime Video

That’s right, if the fourth season of Reacher stays faithful to the novel, it will feature the beloved drifter taking on the biggest and most lethal threat he’s ever faced: Al Qaeda terrorists. Without spoiling any more of the exciting and absolutely wild storyline, the new cast members joining the latest entry have also been revealed, with quite a few familiar faces set to appear in the action knockout. Jay Baruchel (This Is the End, Million Dollar Baby) will be playing Jacob Merrick, GLOW’S Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green, and singer Angez Mo will appear as Lila Hoth. Other new characters and actors include:

  • Kevin Weisman (Alias, Marvel’s Runaways) will play Russell Plum
  • Kevin Corrigan (Pineapple Express, The Departed) will play Detective Docherty
  • Anggun (Levitating, Cannes Confidential) will play Amisha Hoth
  • Marc Blucas (My Life with the Walter Boys, The Fix) will play John Samson
  • Kathleen Robertson (Bates Motel) will play Elsbeth Samson

In the book Gone Tomorrow, Reacher is taking a 2 AM subway ride (changed to a train for the TV series) and becomes suspicious of a woman aboard, initially believing her to be a suicide bomber. Before he has time to react, the stranger takes her own life, and Reacher is left determined to uncover the truth and figure out the reason behind her devastating actions. He teams up with an NYPD detective and the victim’s brother to solve the troubling case, only for Reacher to be caught up in a dangerous and deadly game.
