The Boston Red Sox were definitely in a bad spot with Jarren Duran just a few short weeks ago, but since then, things have changed. And definitely for the better.

For the first couple months of the season, it seemed like the Red Sox made a bad decision not trading Duran for things they needed. He was ice cold, and couldn’t get on base.
However, in his last 13 games, he’s been insane. Now, he’s become a driving force in Boston’s lineup like he used to be.
Pre-hot streak Duran was horrible

Before his hot streak, Duran was pretty bad. He was only hitting .174, had 27 hits, four home runs, and 18 RBI in 39 games played.
For a guy who was an All-Star MVP just two seasons ago, and a vital piece of the offense last season, this was very disappointing for Duran.

Duran is now blazing hot

Now, Duran is on fire. In his past 13 games before today, he was slashing .333/.385/.684/1.069 with three doubles, a triple, five home runs and 14 RBI.
Today’s game against the Cleveland Guardians was no different. He went 1-3 with a leadoff dinger to start the game and get Boston’s offense rolling.
This streak has brought his season averages from down in the dumps to .219/.286/.409/.695 with nine doubles, a triple, 10 homers, 33 RBI, and 10 stolen bases in 53 games.

Because of this rising success, Duran’s value has skyrocketed back almost to where it was in the offseason. With that in mind, trading Duran for a right-handed counterpart might be in the best interest of Boston.

Although, the Red Sox have been missing their future franchise star Roman Anthony for a while now as he sits on the IL with a torn ligament in his finger. With no real timetable for his return, giving away Duran doesn’t make sense.
Hopefully, the Red Sox get Anthony back before the trade deadline, so they can make an informed decision on what to do with their two left fielders.
