The Cincinnati Bengals are listening to trade offers for star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson amid an ongoing contract dispute, sources told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.
No deal for the 2024 NFL sack leader is imminent, according to Pelissero.
The Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, and Indianapolis Colts are among the teams that have shown interest in Hendrickson, multiple sources told NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The disgruntled edge rusher has been at odds with the Bengals for the entire offseason. Hendrickson didn’t attend mandatory minicamp and missed the start of training camp before reporting on July 30. However, he noted that nothing changed in negotiations upon his arrival.
Hendrickson said in May that he would not play for Cincinnati in 2025 under his current contract. The 30-year-old is slated to earn a base salary of $15.8 million this season, per Spotrac, which ranks eighth among all defensive linemen this year. He’s slated to be a free agent after 2025 unless he gets extended.
It was previously reported that the issue in contract talks stemmed from disagreements on guaranteed money, as the Bengals were only willing to offer one year of guaranteed cash.
Hendrickson led the league with 17.5 sacks last season. It was his second straight year recording that many sacks.
