Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been added to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement, sources told NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Drake Maye, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen were the three signal-callers initially selected to the AFC’s roster. However, Maye won’t participate in the exhibition after his New England Patriots reached Super Bowl LX with a win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Bo Nix, Patrick Mahomes, and Daniel Jones each suffered season-ending injuries, ruling them out as potential options to represent the conference.
Sanders, whom the Browns selected in the fifth round of the 2025 draft, started seven games this campaign. Cleveland went 3-4 with Sanders under center. He completed 56.6% of his throws for 1,400 yards with seven touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.
The 23-year-old finished the season with an 18.1 quarterback rating. Out of 37 signal-callers who played at least 260 snaps in 2025, Sanders ranked last in EPA/play and success rate, according to Ben Baldwin’s database.
Sanders is the first Browns quarterback to make the Pro Bowl since Derek Anderson during the 2007 campaign. Anderson threw for 3,787 yards with 29 touchdown passes that season.
The Pro Bowl kicks off Feb. 3.
