Russell Brand Fires Back at Critics Amidst Controversial Tweets

Twitter

Russel Brand has never shied away from a fight, and the recent tweet does actually prove that. “[C]ontrary to what you may believe, mate; I fire back!” the comedian-turned-commentator advised his followers. But then, when is the Internet ever quiet?

The cryptic tweet carried a link that unleashed the floodgates for a lot of reactions, many of them delving into some of the controversial things that has been said against Brand in the past. “Rapist says what?” said one. “After you raped another woman?” remarked another. Ouch. Clearly, these allegations against Brand achieve infamy, and all these found their way to a laissez faire comments section of mudslinging and rebuttals.

There were fans standing up for Russell, however. Reports an example of such tweets with: “u bee u tea full in mommys blouse 🪬keep shining russ speak ur truth wear what u wear”. Wait, what was I saying? Oh right, Brand’s outlandish choices have always been divisive just like his opinions.

The critics also seemed to ask in what way Brand could possibly hold with the supposedly Christian value system or standard that he professes to espouse.

“Not the type of behavior I’d expect from a brother in Christ, mate,” pointed out one user, adding, “A Christian influencer is supposed to be fishing. But your hook got a whole lot of reprobate.” Harsh, but fair?

Seemingly, this tweet was a response to constant ridicule, and indeed it came back with an instant backlash. There was one particularly scathing reply stating, “You ‘firing back’ is the equivalent of a fart joke from a special needs kid.” Yikes. Another gave him a flat “talentless twonk.”

A few others, though, in the fray attempted a deviation of purport-healing of overstimulation. – “Over stimulation. Coffee works in keeping us awake because caffeine is an irritant,” one said, apparently out of nowhere- Okay then.

Russell Brand’s entire persona on the digital streets has been about a haphazard mix of offensive remarks and spiritual brooding.

However, this time, the repercussions have caused almost uniformly negative reactions from people. Does he fire back, again? Only time will tell, but the fact is that the internet will never forget.

Now what do you think about their tweet? Stirring the pot or, maybe, something lie deeper? Sound off probably and dive into the comments, but be careful because his “fire back” mode may just be switched on!
