Snoop Dogg And Daz Dillinger Celebrate Classic ‘Big Pimpin’ With Nostalgic Birthday Tribute

The deserving fame-givers to the viewers would take them on a nostalgiac birthday tribute down memory lane for the legendary collaboration of Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger in Big Pimpin’. The song made its appearance somewhere during the mid-90s and would simply still stand as any gangster rap record in the annals of history.

The throwback clip shared on Instagram was from the ‘Big Pimpin’ video, unapologetically in full G-Funk glory, while the caption just lightly said, “HAPPY 🎂 DAY DAZ,” tagging both Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg, whose smooth vocals really defined the sound of the West Coast. The lines from the clip took one back to a memory lane of the golden days of hip-hop—lines such as ‘my mind on my money, yeah, my money on my mob,’ still strong like they were the very first day back then.

The comment section flooded in adoration for the track, stating ‘space age production’ that still sounds fresh to this day, another mentioned the record, which was in the ‘Above the Rim’ soundtrack, really catapulting it into the realms of hip-hop and cinema history. The nostalgic vibes are real: several came forth labeling it as a ‘classic’ and ‘the song that set it all off.’

Interestingly, one comment reads, “30+ years” of relevance after these years, so real music indeed has no expiration date; there were one or two funny comments about the retro graphics in the video, claiming that they should be used in a remake for today—ironically, it being that vintage mid-90s feel that makes it so special.

The post brought back memories, even some personal ones. One user was reminded of how ‘the hardest man song takes the beast me calm down living under the era we did get to past 18 yrs old thankful for all that gave me a pass real talk.’

Though mostly a happy birthday shoutout to Daz Dillinger, the post unwittingly became a soft tribute to the late Nate Dogg, whose contribution to West Coast Hip Hop cannot be replaced. The comments became a poetic mini-reunion of fans, some artists, including Kool Papi, poured their love on the track and its legacy.

All these years later, ‘Big Pimpin’ still hits just as hard as back then: Some tracks just don’t age. Be it the production, the lyrics, or simply the nostalgia, this track is forever the gold standard of West Coast hip-hop… and judging from the reactions of the fans, nobody would want it any other way.
