Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons is set to undergo an MRI on his left ankle after being carted to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s 20-15 win over the New York Giants.
“I know very little. I’ve got an MRI, and I’m going to try to get back next week,” Parsons said postgame, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. He added that X-rays came back negative.
Parsons went down after a Giants offensive lineman rolled onto his leg late. The All-Pro defender was helped off the field and spent time in the blue medical tent before leaving the contest on a cart with his left shoe off.
The 25-year-old was limping around the locker room but was seemingly optimistic about his injury.
“I’ll be good,” Parsons told quarterback Dak Prescott, per Machota.
Parsons – who finished in the top three for Defensive Player of the Year in each of his first three NFL seasons – recorded two tackles (one for loss) before leaving the game.
He also sustained a neck injury in the first half Thursday. He spent time on the sideline and missed a few plays but managed to return.
