Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to a left ankle sprain, the team announced.
Durant suffered the injury in pre-game warmups before Wednesday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Swelling has gone down in Durant’s ankle since the injury Wednesday, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Durant played in just three games since joining the Suns in a blockbuster trade from the Brooklyn Nets on Feb. 9. The 34-year-old dealt with a knee injury that kept him out since Jan. 8 and eventually made his Suns debut on March 1 against the Charlotte Hornets.
Phoenix went 3-0 with Durant in the lineup before the ankle sprain, which kept him out of Wednesday’s game.
The Suns’ prize acquisition averaged 26.7 points and 7.3 rebounds on 69% field-goal shooting in his three contests with the team.
