FIFA did not detect cases of fixing during the World Cup


No anomaly was detected in the 64 matches of the tournament, where Argentina was proclaimed world champion by beating France.
FIFA reported this Friday that it did not detect, through its integrity working group, any manipulation in the 64 matches that were part of the Qatar 2022 World Cup that ended with Argentina ‘s victory in the penalty shootout over France. (3-3 and 4-2).

This group was tasked with supervising, for the first time in a World Cup , match manipulation, as well as integrity issues.

“As part of its remit, the task force reviewed monitoring reports from legal betting markets, conducted investigations in various jurisdictions, and reviewed surveillance at competition venues for suspicious conduct. No threats of manipulation were detected. of matches in any of the matches played during the competition,” the organization reported.

“The composition of the working group ensured that the response to any alerts about possible match manipulation and integrity issues during the FIFA World Cup was competent, coordinated and timely,” he added.

A way of working to pursue the fixes that FIFA launched satisfactorily and whose next great challenge will be the Women’s Soccer World Cup that will be held from July 20 to August 20, 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.
