LeBron James did not want to commit to choosing his favorite between Argentina or France for champion in the World Cup Final to be held this Sunday in Qatar, but the Lakers star will be watching the decisive game from home and hopes it will be a great confrontation.
“I’m not going to choose,” LeBron said. “I just want to see a great game like the rest of the world, whether you support France or Argentina.”
LeBron James is a soccer fan and even a minority partner of the Liverpool FC club, through the Fenway Sports Group, owners of the British team. Although the club will be represented in the final by defender Ibrahima Konaté, two world soccer stars such as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé will also face each other.
“I’m excited to see two of the best players to play that sport face to face, it will be fun,” added the four-time NBA champion.
LeBron had a great night in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 126-108 win over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night and answered questions about the World Cup final after the win.
“What time is the game here (in Los Angeles)?” LeBron asked. “7 in the morning local time”, – was the answer.
“Perfect, I’ll be able to get up and watch the game,” LeBron said.
The ‘King’ LeBron will be able to enjoy soccer from home on Sunday morning, before the Angelenos play that same night at home when they host the Washington Wizards.
