Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James anticipates playing Saturday against the Denver Nuggets after tweaking his ankle during the Lakers’ 108-103 Game 2 loss.
“I’ll be fine,” James said, according to Spectrum SportsNet’s Mike Trudell.
James appeared to roll his ankle when he stepped on teammate Anthony Davis’ foot while defending the rim against Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon.
James had his ankle evaluated after the loss, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reports.
“Nothing is keeping me from playing,” James told Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.
The Lakers star recorded 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting with 10 assists, nine rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in 40 minutes of action. James has missed all 10 of his attempts from 3-point range over the two losses.
“Let him shoot all he wants. It’s LeBron James,” teammate Austin Reaves said about James’ struggles from three, according to McMenamin. “We want him taking what he feels comfortable with. He’s a winning player.”
