Ravens signing Odell Beckham Jr. to 1-year deal

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed in principle to a one-year deal with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the team announced Sunday.

Beckham will receive a $1.165-million base salary, a $13.835-million signing bonus, and he can earn up to $3 million in incentives, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Beckham didn’t play last season after suffering a torn ACL in Super Bowl LVI as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. He began the 2021 campaign with the Cleveland Browns but parted ways with the club midway through the season.

The 30-year-old scored five touchdowns in eight regular season appearances with the Rams. He helped them win the Super Bowl, catching 21 passes for 288 yards and two TDs in the postseason.

The three-time Pro Bowler visited the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and New York Giants in December. He was also scheduled to visit the New York Jets this week. Those four teams, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs, were linked to Beckham this offseason.

Baltimore’s quarterback situation remains in flux after the club placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Lamar Jackson in March. Jackson later posted on Twitter that he had requested a trade after the Ravens weren’t “interested in meeting” the dual-threat’s value.

Jackson appears to be excited about the addition of the veteran wideout, sharing a photo of he and Beckham on a FaceTime call shortly after the team announced the deal.

Jackson and Beckham had multiple conversations during Beckham’s time as a free agent about playing together and winning a Super Bowl, sources told Jordan Schultz, theScore’s NFL insider.

The deadline for Jackson and the Ravens to agree to a long-term deal is July 17.

Beckham will join a receiver room that includes Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay among others.

Beckham took the NFL by storm after being drafted 12th overall in 2014 by the Giants, racking up at least 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons. The 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year had 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 regular season appearances with the Giants from 2014-18.
