Sports calendar October 2022: these are the matches to follow!


We’re getting closer to October, which means it’s time to block your calendar for the season’s biggest matches. Want to know which big events in the UK you need to follow? Then keep reading!

NFL 2022 London Game

The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for their match against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 2. A week later we’ll see the New York Giants go up against the Green Bay Packers. The month will end with a battle between the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watch them live on TV, or take a trip to London to see your favorite team play live! Bring all your friends along and rent a Mercedes V-Class (in Dutch: Mercedes V-Klasse huren) to drive around the country in style and comfort. If you want to drive a more budget model, then renting a Mercedes Vito (in Dutch: Mercedes Vito huren) is the perfect way to keep the group together on this road trip.

F1 in October 2022

It’s a great month for Formula 1 fans. We’re kicking off with the Singapore Grand Prix from September 30 – October 2. The race on Singapore’s Marina Bay Circuit is guaranteed to be thrilling. From October 7-9, you can sit back for an exciting race: the Japanese Grand Prix on the Suzuka Circuit. The month doesn’t end there. From October 21-23 we will witness the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, followed by the Mexican Grand Prix on Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.

London Marathon

Whether you’re a supporter or a runner yourself: the London Marathon is a race you don’t want to miss. Sign up to be a participant and race to victory on the 2nd of October in London, England. 40.000 runners will be participating in the marathon of the year, taking on 26,2 miles from Blackheath to The Mall. The event itself is also a party to be at as a supporter, as there are stands all along the course.

Rugby World Cup and League World Cup

The postponed games from 2021 are finally happening! From October 8 to November 12, the women’s international rugby teams will face each other to win the Rugby World Cup. This year, the battles take place in Eden Park, Auckland, Northland Events Centre, Whangarei, and Waitakere Stadium in New Zealand.

Another cup that has been postponed is the League World Cup. The men’s, women’s. and wheelchair World Cups are taking place from October 15 to November 19 this year! With 61 matches in total, these are plenty of brutal games to watch. The League World Cup is hosted in England, so make sure you either follow each game live or get tickets to support your favorite team in real life now!

2022 WTA Finals

The month ends in Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in Shenzhen, China with the WTA finals! Which tennis player will be crowned champion? You can watch the games from October 31 to November 6.
