Stephen A. Smith Places Blame on Brooklyn Nets Disaster Season

Stephen A. Smith is never shy to point a finger.

With Steve Nash getting shown the door yesterday, it has become apparent to the entire basketball world that the Brooklyn Nets have been a complete sh*t show over the last three seasons.  Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are two of the best in the game, but things haven’t gone smoothly, to put it mildly.  Not to mention, the Nets also had James Harden at one point. Even this wasn’t enough to make them a solid team.

Too many egos and not enough balls. On First Take today, Stephen A. Smith made sure to give Steve Nash a bit of a reprieve, taking the onus off the former NBA MVP.  Smith noted that it was always going to be hard for Nash to be the head coach since he has to deal with Kyrie Irving.

“To be a coach, particularly one with zero experience on any level coaching, you’ve got to be in an ideal situation. And Kyrie Irving is not an ideal situation,” Smith said.

Stephen A. Smith then went after Kyrie, yet again, saying:

“There’s no one, respectfully, more accountable than Kyrie Irving [for the Nets’ issues].”

This is a harsh assessment of the situation by Stephen A. Smith, but you can’t deny the fact that Kyrie is a locker room cancer.

It remains to be seen whether or not this Nets team will be able to turn its season around but you never know.

If Kyrie can get back to  playing basketball and stay off social media, maybe, just maybe they can compete without so much drama.

But I’m not holding my breath.  Stephen A. Smith probably won’t either.  Keep in mind Stephen A. Smith called Kyrie Irving a potential  MVP candidate before the season started.
