Fox Sports announced Monday that the Philadelphia Eagles’ 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX drew a projected 126 million average audience across all platforms, setting the record for the most-watched Super Bowl.
Despite the blowout, the game broke the previous record of 123.7 million average viewers for Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 between the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, according to the Sport Business Journal’s Austin Karp.
Super Bowl LIX’s audience peaked in the second quarter between 8-8:15 p.m., when 135.7 million people tuned in.
Fox, Fox Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo, and NFL digital properties were the platforms broadcasting the game.
Sunday’s matchup was also the most-streamed Super Bowl, with 14.5 million viewers.
Philadelphia dominated Kansas City on Sunday, halting the Chiefs’ bid to hoist a third consecutive Lombardi Trophy. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while rushing for 72 yards and another score.
Super Bowl LIX served as a rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs, with Kansas City beating Philadelphia 38-35 in 2023.
