Top 5 Online Gaming Spots

The online gaming industry has grown in less than twenty (20) years. From being a niche hobby, it has become a flourishing industry for entertainment. In 2020, the industry surpassed a net worth of $1 billion and continued to grow. In addition, millions of gamers are now into top esports titles like League of Legends, Fortnite, Dota 2 and CS: GO.

Across the world, there are plenty of great online gamers. However, some countries tend to produce more amazing gamers than others. The top online gaming spots include:

Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago of over 1700 islands (it may depend if it is high-tide or low-tide). Blessed with a glorious past and an uncertain future, the Philippines boast tropical beaches and tech-savvy online gamers.

According to Statista, online gaming is a booming industry in the Philippines. Its revenues indicate exponential growth in 2020 compared to the previous years. In the Philippines, most gamers use cellphones, consoles, and PC. Notably, online gaming has gained popularity among the younger generation, especially during the Covid years. It provided younger gamers with a source of amusement and entertainment and an avenue to be with their friends.

In 2021, there were more than 43 million active gamers in the country, with a 12.9% yearly increase from 2017. Online gaming’s steady growth was strengthened because of the mobile internet – and the accessibility of smartphones.

South Korea

South Korea is the next top online gaming spot in the world. It should be no surprise because South Korea kickstarted the whole esports phenomenon. The country has also produced esports stars – and even legends.

South Korea’s stars include Faker; people like him are a big reason why games like League of Legends have enjoyed such high popularity. Faker has brought home over $1.2 million in Esports prize money in his esports career. On the ot

her hand, Bang and Wolf are some of the most formidable esports gamers in the world.

China

Originally, Chinese policymakers were opposed to competitive gaming but came 2019, it was recognized and became more legitimate. As a result, Esports became more prominent in China, to the point it was predicted to become one of the best in the industry, next to the United States.

China has even established a dedicated esports town in Hangzhou to support online gaming. The town aimed to develop the next generation of competitive gaming talent.

Denmark

Next up is the country Denmark. Denmark has produced notable gaming talent, such as the CS: GO team, Astralis, who has been a long-standing champion in consecutive CS: GO majors until the Berlin Major 2019. In addition, Danish LoL players like Bjergsen, Broxax, Caps, and Wunder have all become popular within the scene.

USA

Finally, the last country is the USA. In the USA, DOTA 2 has given esports lovers special and great talent. USA ranks high on the list of where the best esports gamers come from. However, the environment in the USA could be more conducive to cultivating stronger gaming talent and needs to be improved.

Wrapping Up

There are plenty of great spots for online gaming. However, the Philippines is one of the most promising, especially due to easy WiFi and mobile access.
