What can we expect from the NFL this season


NFL 2021-2022 Season. 

The 2021-2022 season of the NFL began on September 9th, and it is a historic season already since its regular calendar has 17 games for the first time, as well as a short preseason, and both of these conditions are applicable to all 32 teams. 

Post season will begin on January 15, and the Super Bowl, which was originally scheduled for February 6th, is looking to be played on Sunday 13th February instead. 

The season has already been off to a wild start, and many are still hopeful for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to uphold their status as reigning champions with Brady at the helm. Yet, whether you are sitting in anticipation at every game to see the outcome, pumped for the outcome to see who makes it to the Super Bowl, or if you are simply eagerly watching the NFL money lines, we all want to know who is predicting what for this year’s NFL season. 

And of course, are any of these predictions likely to be true? 

We won’t make crazy predictions, nor will we assume the best or worst. First, let’s take a look at some of the weirdest predictions, and then go over what we know of this season so far. 

Some of the weirdest predictions of the Season. 

There are some rather outrageous predictions out there, some more absurd than others. We have seen a few people claim that they predict that Dak Prescott will account for 50 touchdowns on his return, if this ends up being true or not, we do not know. However, He has a career-high of 33 touchdowns through the air and on the ground, which he made in 2019. Yet he managed 12 touchdowns through 4.5 games last year before his injury. 

It’s not totally outrageous, but we aren’t sure if we would bet on it just yet. 

Another prediction would be that Aaron Rodgers is to set the NFL single-season touchdown pass record. This has a bit more traction thanks to there being that 17th game on the regular season schedule. He has a career high of 48-touchdowns, and won his third MVP award last season. 

Some predict that the Buccaneers will miss the playoffs. This is a bold prediction. Of course, they’re the reigning champions and with 44-year-old Brady leading the charge, why could this be true? Well, it’s less about the Bucs and more about the Falcons having coach Arthur Smith, and the Panthers having Christian McCaffrey. If one of these unseats the Bucs, it could mean the Bucs becoming the first defending Super Bowl champions to miss the playoffs since 2016.

Scores we know so far.

So, with all that in mind, what do we know so far? Well, as of mid-October at week 6 of the NFL. There are a select few teams that are doing well, and one of our previously insane predictions could carry some traction. 

So far there are 10 teams who have won more than four games so far. These include the Buccaneers, the Cardinals, the Cowboys, the Packers, the Titans, the Ravens, the Chargers, the Bengals, the Raiders, and the Bills. 

The Bills, Raiders, Bengals, Chargers, Ravens, and Titans have all won four games so far. The Cowboys, Packers, and Buccaneers have each won five games, However, the Cardinals have won six games, overtaking the Bucs. The Cardinals are an NFC team just like the Bucs, and so, it is entirely possible that the Cardinals could end up being the team that ends up going to the Super Bowl if they can keep this up.   

How is Tampa Bay doing?

Tampa Bay needs to uphold their title as defending champions after the last Super Bowl. However, that might be difficult with the Cardinals being so ruthless in their play so far. Yet, we are still weeks away and if the Cardinals start to waver, the Bucs will easily make it back. 

So, how are they doing? Well, they are doing well, they had a sketchy start to the season but soon picked things back up. Note their absolute slaughter of the Dolphins in week 5, coming out as the winners 45-17! It is still possible they will make it to the Super Bowl for a second year in a row.

It’s too early to say really, many have to make predictions. The Chargers may win the AFC West, AFC North is looking to be the Ravens, AFC South the Titans, AFC East may be the Bills. Then NFC West the Cardinals, NFC North the Packers, NFC South the Bucs, and NFC East the Cowboys. As for the Super Bowl, who knows?
