Sugar Season 2 Episode 7 Theory: Will John Finally Kill Ray to Save Danny and Ji?

Sugar Season 2 Episode 7 might push John into doing the one thing he has fought against since the case began.

And I hate that the idea now makes sense. Ray has detained Danny, exposed Ji’s fake death, and turned the whole situation into a rancid hostage game.

John still wants the lawful route, which is sweet, but the law keeps arriving with empty hands and a headache.

Tom already floated the ugliest option by suggesting John could break into Ray’s house and kill him.

That sounded unhinged at first. Then Ray started acting like a man begging for consequences with both hands.

John Sugar already had a gun on him once and froze. If Danny gets hurt, Episode 7 may drag John’s ethics into a very ugly corner.

John’s Morals Are Looking Exhausted

I almost feel bad watching John fight this hard to stay decent.

Then I remember he forced Ji to overdose for the fake-death plan, and suddenly the halo looks a little dented.

Sugar Season 2 Episode 6 keeps pushing John toward a choice he does not want.

Chuy’s phone gives him video evidence involving Ray, Chuy, and Guapo, but Deb sees too much room for Ray to dodge a case.

I get why John snaps. He finally gets something useful, and the system treats Ray like a paperwork inconvenience instead of a fentanyl gremlin with a badge.

Anyone would want to throw a chair. John may throw his whole moral code next, which is much worse and way more stressful.

Ray Detaining Danny Changes the Whole Fight

Ray going after Danny is foul, which makes it smart in the worst way.

John has hidden Ji, Ray cannot reach him yet, and Danny gives Ray the cleanest way to make John panic.

Poor Danny already has Ji, the Vegas fight, Nestor, Teddy, and his own temper turning his life into a gym-based disaster.

Now Ray wants detainees to hurt him until John gives up Ji’s location.

That move annoyed me so much because Ray knows exactly which nerve to press. He does not need to touch Ji when Danny can do the hurting for both brothers.

Episode 7 now has no easy path. If John waits for the DA, Danny suffers. If he protects Ji, Ray punishes Danny. If he hands Ji over, Ray wins.

Ji’s Safety Is Already Cooked

Ji being alive was supposed to be John’s big trick.

For a while, the plan had sauce. Ji was in rehab, Open Road had him safe, and Ray had a fake death certificate to chew on.

Then Ray pressured Tammy, learned the certificate was fake, broke into John’s room, and found the NARCAN. So, yes, the Ji plan is cooked.

Right now, Ji stepping outside would hand Ray evidence, leverage, and a fresh way to control everyone.

John telling Ji to stay hidden makes sense, but Ray has already punched holes through the cover story.

Episode 7 has to test whether John can protect both brothers without becoming the violent person Peg warned him about.

Peg’s Warning Is Starting to Bite

The flashback with Peg made John’s present-day crisis much more personal for me.

Eleven years ago, he judged Peg for becoming too human, too indulgent, and too attached to Earth.

Then she died in front of him after admitting she would feel like an outsider even back home.

That is such a brutal thing for him to carry.

Now he is eating junk food, getting close to Charlotte, making reckless choices, and staring at Ray like murder has started looking weirdly practical.

Peg’s warning about assimilation no longer sounds like ghost nonsense.

John thinks human weakness comes through pleasure, hunger, love, or bad decisions after midnight. I think Ray may prove that rage can do the same job faster.

Honestly, I want Ray gone! I also don’t want John to pay for that with the last clean part of himself.

The Bruno Scam Makes Ray Even Worse

The housing scheme twist made me want to scream into a cushion.

John connecting Ray to Peter Bruno, the morgue manager, gives the fentanyl deaths a larger, uglier shape.

Cheap drugs flood the streets, addicts die, identities disappear, and Bruno can help create fake success numbers for a government housing program.

That is so vile I almost need the show to invoice me for emotional damages.

Ray is not only hunting Ji. He is tied to a whole dead-body economy where poor people vanish from records while powerful men get paid.

John looking at the city and realizing the scale of it gives his murder impulse a different charge.

This is no longer only about Ji and Danny, even if those two are the people pushing him hardest.

If John kills Ray, I’ll understand why he gets pushed there. Ray has become impossible to ignore, and every attempt to deal with him only seems to make things worse.

My theory for Sugar Season 2 Episode 7 is that John will try one last clever plan before violence takes over.

He may use Chuy’s phone, Bruno’s Marine Corps connection to Ray, and the fake housing scheme to create pressure from more than one side.

I don’t think he wants to kill Ray, and I do not think the show wants that choice to look cool.

But if Danny is hurt badly enough, all bets are off. John already stood inside Ray’s house with a gun.

Ray already mocked John for not shooting, and that taunt is going to stay with him.

Do you think John will kill Ray on Sugar Season 2 Episode 7, or will he find some dirtier, smarter way to bury him legally?

Drop your theories below because I need to know who else is side-eyeing Ray, worrying about Danny, and wondering how much longer John can keep trusting the system.

  • Sugar Season 2 Episode 7 may push John toward killing Ray after Danny is detained and Ji’s hiding place becomes unsafe.

  • Sugar Season 2 Episode 6 exposes Fire Sale’s housing fraud as John spares Vega, who retaliates by placing Danny Moon in danger.

  • Sugar Season 2 Episode 5 used its cremation montage to turn Ji’s fake death, Sandra’s overdose, and Ray’s fentanyl case into brutal warning.
