Batwoman Season 3 Trailer Teams Up Batwoman & Alice

Batwoman recently returned to Gotham City for a third season, and the series has already upped the ante with its latest batch of episodes, pitting Batwoman against a new wave of villains ready to terrorize Gotham City. As part of Saturday’s DC FanDome, Ryan Wilder (A.K.A. Batwoman) star Javicia Leslie dropped in to share her excitement about Batwoman’s upcoming episodes airing on The CW. After the Batcave villain trophies washed up on Gotham’s shores in the season two finale, several characters inspired by Batman’s iconic rogues’ gallery are expected to challenge Ryan Wilder and the Bat Team, beginning with Liam Crandle (played by Amitai Marmorstein) who adopts the mantle of the Mad Hatter after coming into possession of the Hatter’s mind-controlling hat. Not only will season three introduce the Mad Hatter to the Batwoman cast, it will also include the series debut of classic Gotham City villains like Killer Croc and Poison Ivy.

As part of the second annual DC FanDome event, an all-new trailer for the third season of Batwoman also debuted featuring a surprise twist that Batfans might not expect: a supervillain and hero team-up! The main villain of season 3 appears to be Liam Crandle, a stalker who goes by the name “Mad Hatter” and becomes obsessed with Beth Kane, also known as Alice (played by series star Rachel Skarsten). In the second half of the season, Ryan Wilder will have to team up with Alice, a Batwoman villain who started the season locked up in Arkham Asylum. When the two characters unexpectedly find themselves as “partners in crime,” however, well… the trailer promises the team-up will offer retro fun that’s “totally bat-chick crazy!”

Featuring funky, throwback visuals, that are reminiscent of Austin Powers, the trailer introduces the reluctant partnership that Batwoman and Alice will form in season 3. And in the new “bat-chick crazy” season, Ryan will have to find a way to keep up with her crime-fighting responsibilities, all while dealing with Alice, her family drama, and babysitting the not-so-dead twin sister of the former Batwoman, Kate Kane (played by Wallis Day).

Ryan Wilder was created for The CW series, and the third season is Leslie’s second season in the role as the actress took over as Batwoman after Ruby Rose left the series to focus on her mental health. Although Ryan is a highly skilled crime fighter, she is undisciplined and still trying to find her place in Gotham. Thus, season three will explore the character’s backstory when she must confront the truth of her birth mom, with Robin Givens joining the cast as Ryan’s previously-thought-to-be-dead mom.

Will Ryan have to rely on the rest of the Bat Team to get through this season of Batwoman? Maybe… The Bat Team consists of Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox (A.K.A. Batwing), Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton, and Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, and luckily for Ryan, each will reluctantly help her to hunt down the lost Batcave artifacts alongside Alice. Also joining Batwoman for the third season, Victoria Cartagena as Renee Montoya, Nick Creegan as Marquis Jet, and Bridget Regan as the fan-favorite DC villain Poison Ivy as she fights Ryan for the first time.

Batwoman airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The new trailer was debuted at DC FanDome. Some details of this story come to us from ET Online.
