Beavis and Butt-Head Remastered Episodes Coming to Paramount+, Will Include Music Videos

It’s going to be an incredible month for Beavis and Butt-Head fans. It has been known that the boys were coming back with an all-new movie as well as a rebooted TV series, and it was recently confirmed with a trailer that the film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, hits Paramount+ on June 23. That same day, the streaming service will also debut 200 remastered episodes of the original series, and, better yet, they will include the music videos with Beavis and Butt-Head’s commentary.

The remastered episodes bringing back the music videos, which was confirmed by Consequence, will make many fans of the classic series happy. Due to licensing issues, the music videos were not included on the official “Mike Judge Collection” DVD releases, nor were they featured with those episodes on Paramount+. The Mike Judge Collection had also omitted many, many episodes that will now be able to be streamed after getting remastered.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

When Beavis and Butt-Head returned for a one-season revival in 2011, the landscape had changed at MTV. The network had less of a focus on music with more emphasis on reality television, and while Beavis and Butt-Head still watched the occasional video for the new season, they also spent a lot of time commenting on Jersey Shore and other MTV reality shows. But it was the music videos in particular that so many longtime Beavis and Butt-Head fans enjoyed and have been missing for years.

Paramount+

A trailer was recently released for Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, the second feature film starring the titular slackers. It is written and directed by Mike Judge who also returns to voice Beavis, Butt-Head, and other characters. The voice cast also includes Gary Cole, David Herman, Chi McBride, Tig Notaro, Stephen Root, Jimmy O. Yang, and Chris Diamantopoulos. It serves as a sequel to 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America but takes things a bit further by transporting the boys through time. Yuo can read the official synopsis below.

Initially set after the events of Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, we see Beavis and Butt-Head celebrated as local heroes in their town. A year later, with fame and fortune going to their head, the boys find themselves getting blackmailed for an illegal scam. Following their arrest, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to a space camp in 1998. Naturally, the duo becomes distracted by a docking simulator and their perverted senses of humor, while they wind up on a space shuttle. Things go from bad to worse as they travel through a black hole and teleport to the current day. Being unfamiliar with the times, they start to look for love, figure out how to use iPhones, and become hunted by the Deep State.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe starts streaming on Paramount+ on June 23, 2022. Remastered episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head will also be made available for streaming on that date.
