A new medical pilot for Hulu is coming from writers Matt Lopez and John Glenn. According to Variety, the pilot is called The Hurt Unit and reportedly will be about highly skilled trauma surgeons. This one doesn’t take place in a hospital, though. Instead, these surgeons go out into the field to treat patients who cannot make it to the hospital. HURT stands for the Hospital Urgent Response Team.
Lopez is known for his work on the drama Promised Land, about a successful Latino family who owns a vineyard in Northern California. Additionally, Lopez has written for Father of the Bride, Race to Witch Mountain, and the procedural, Gone, which ran for one season. Glenn is the showrunner for SEAL Team on CBS, a military drama that centers around elite Navy SEALs’ personal lives and high-stakes missions. Glenn is also known for his work on Allegiance, Eagle Eye, The Lazarus Project, and the upcoming thriller, Elevation.

Pilot Season Approaches for Streamers & Network TV
As pilot season revs up, orders for new shows are going out. ABC has ordered a new legal drama called Judgement from Joey Falco, who was the showrunner for Charmed. The Detective Agency will produce the project with Melvin Marr and Jake Kasden on board as executive producers. Variety reports that the official logline of the show is,
“A high-stakes legal soap that redefines the genre by playing out over two timelines. Fifteen years from now, a woman being vetted for a Supreme Court seat recounts her experience at a prominent D.C. law firm in 2023, where the only thing more controversial than the cases was her messy love life, caught between two feuding brothers. Now, with a Supreme Court seat on the line, all of her darkest secrets are at risk of coming out, threatening her nomination, her reputation, and her marriage.”
The cast for the legal drama pilot has yet to be announced. Other projects from Falco include Treadstone, which he co-produced based on the Jason Bourne series, and Heroes Reborn.
