The first image of season 2 has been released to hold fans over until the arrival of the trailer.
Prime Video
Our first look at the long-awaited second season of Invincible has arrived. All month, Prime Video has been teasing a major update on Invincible, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original comic book. On Thursday, the show’s official handle on Twitter shared a new image that reveals our first sneak peek at the new episodes from season 2. The post also seems to tease that the trailer release is imminent, noting that something big is set to arrive on Friday.
The image reveals a Burger Mart meeting between Mark Grayson, aka Invincible (Steven Yeun) and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen). What exactly the two are discussing remains to be seen. The characters left things off in the season 1 finale by talking about what was to come. If it’s a trailer that’s dropping on Friday, perhaps we’ll see more from this alliance along with a taste of the other storylines that will be explored in the show’s second season.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Based on the comic book created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible follows a teenager with budding superpowers who hopes to become one of the planet’s greatest heroes, following in the footsteps of his powerful father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). Problems arise when he learns the true nature of his heritage and how his desires immensely conflict with what his father truly has in mind for the planet.
The show’s voice cast also includes Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Walton Goggins, Chris Diamantopoulos, Zachary Quinto, Ross Marquand, Jason Mantzoukas, Malese Jow, Grey Griffin, Khary Payton, Kevin Michael Richardson, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, and Clancy Brown.

Invincible Is Finally Coming Back
Prime Video
Prime Video originally premiered Invincible in 2021, concluding its first season in April of that year. The show was renewed for another two seasons shortly after that, and it’s been the waiting game for fans ever since. The pandemic coupled with the length of time it takes for animators to develop 40-minute episodes have contributed to the delay, but with so many teases now getting dropped, we seem to be getting pretty close to season 2. Let’s hope a premiere date is released along with that trailer.
Invincible season 2 doesn’t yet have a premiere date set at Prime Video, but that could potentially be revealed with the new trailer that drops on Friday, Jan. 20.
