Keke Palmer to Host Saturday Night Live in December

After Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live on Saturday night, the show will go on hiatus until Dec. 3 when Keke Palmer makes her hosting debut. It was announced on the new episode that Palmer will be serving as host with SZA, who’s part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, joining her as the musical guest. While the Nope star has not hosted SNL in the past, she does have some experience hosting with NBC’s Password reboot, as well as the MTV VMAs and a Singled Out reboot on Quibi.

“I can’t wait!! The stage awaits,” Palmer said of the announcement on Instagram.

Most recently, Palmer was seen in Nope, the third feature film from director Jordan Peele. That movie is coming to Peacock this month. She also recently starred as the titular character in the thriller Alice and had a voice role in the animated Toy Story spinoff Lightyear. Palmer is also doing voice work for Human Resources on Netflix and will appear in the upcoming film Being Mortal with Seth Rogen.

Meanwhile, Palmer also says she’s hiring a “new generation of creatives” for her own digital network, KeyTV. The idea is to help bring up other creatives who just need an opportunity, and it’s something she’s been thinking about for the past two decades.

“I want to share everything I learned with you because this is my greatest dream of all,” Palmer said of KeyTV. “All it takes is one of us to unlock a door to unlock a million doors for each other. I’m so excited to introduce you guys to KeyTV, where our stories matter and where we are represented as the keys to the culture.”
