Long-Time FBI Star Exiting the Show as a New Character’s Brought In

Katherine Renee Kane will be saying goodbye to the CBS crime drama FBI in its upcoming seventh season after making an appearance in one final episode. Kane, who joined the cast in Season 4, portrays Special Agent Tiffany Wallace, a character that has been at the center of many of the show’s storylines for the last three seasons. While there is a wave of new characters joining the show as she departs, her integral nature in the series will be a great loss for many fans.

In a statement shared with Deadline, the actress shared her reasons for leaving. In a short note, she said:

It was time to look towards new creative endeavors. I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best.

Kane’s role as Wallace has been a memorable one. Since her introduction, Wallace has channeled her talent and proved to be a resourceful agent. In the most recent season, her character arc focused on an investigation into the murder of Agent Hobbs, with whom Tiffany had previously worked undercover. Wallace’s relentless pursuit of the terrorist responsible and her ability to navigate the complexities of her case made her a formidable opponent. In the season finale, she finally caught up with the killer and delivered her own form of justice.

When discussing the future of her character in an interview with TVLine in May, Kane expressed her desire for “healing and growth,” emphasizing on the fact that the lasting effects of her latest arc are yet to be realized. She added:

“I would love to [Tiffany] her continue to have moments of release and sort of breathe and have some levity — in her personal life, but also in her work life with her colleagues. I’d like to to see Tiffany continue to be, like, a badass agent, but also relax into life in a nice way. That would be really, really lovely.”

Created by Dick Wolf, FBI follows the inner workings of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York office. The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Missy Peregrym as Special Agent Maggie Bell and Zeeko Zaki as Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan. Kane’s Tiffany Wallace added to the team’s brilliant dynamic.

FBI Fills Kane’s Absence With A New Character

The news of Katherine Renee Kane’s departure from FBI is accompanied by the announcement that Lisette Olivera will be joining the cast in Season 7. Olivera is set to play Syd, a highly trained Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) agent, who will fill in the spot left open by Tiffany as Scola’s (John Boyd) partner. Syd is described as intelligent and intuitive. Surely, she will be valuable to the team as they tackle complex, high-stakes cases.
