With Tom Ellis taking the throne as Lucifer, the new poster also features series stars Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Lauren German as Chloe Decker, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. It’s one of the last times we’ll see this particular group together with just ten episodes of the show left to go.

“As we started to dig into season 6, we found new story we wouldn’t have told before,” co-showrunner Joe Henderson recently told TVLine. “There is a story that we didn’t know we would have to tell until we got to the point we got to [with the season 5 finale], and once we got there and looked around, we realized that there was an entire engine for an entire season’s worth of storytelling that we’re excited about… But it is very much a season of saying goodbye to the show we love.”

Of what else is to come in Lucifer season 6, co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich also said: “What happens when the dog catches the car? Like, what happens when Lucifer gets a hold of something that maybe he thought he wanted? He’s always his own worst enemy, so it’s not going to be an easy road. Let’s put it that way.”

Ellis also teased that more crime solving would be coming for Lucifer in the final season at [email protected], as “it’s in his DNA now.” Still, it’s going to be an adjustment for his character heading into the final season, given his new position as God. Will this be something Lucifer actually wants?

“I think it’s that classic thing of ‘be careful what you wish for.'” Ellis said. “Because he did convince himself about a lot of things during season 5, but when something that you think about actually happens, it often feels very different, so that’s the kind of conundrum that Lucifer finds himself in season 6.”

Lucifer originally aired on Fox for three seasons before it was prematurely canceled. Thanks to a popular #SaveLucifer campaign on social media, Netflix stepped in like a guardian angel and picked up the show for a fourth season exclusive to the streamer. The show only continued to grow in popularity following the movie, and Netflix then announced another renewal for a fifth season. At the time, the plan was for season 5 to be the final season of the show, but the decision was later made to give the show another season before all was said and done.

The sixth and final season of Lucifer will be released on Friday, Sept. 10 on Netflix. You can watch the first five seasons now on the streamer. The new poster was first published by TVLine.
