Manifest Stars React After Netflix Passes on Saving the Canceled NBC Series

It’s the end of the road for Manifest, and the stars of the series have reacted to the heartbreaking news on social media. Premiering on NBC in 2018, the supernatural drama concluded its third season on the network earlier this month. It was announced just days later that NBC had canceled Manifest after three seasons, which was especially unfortunate as the season had ended on a major cliffhanger.

“I am devastated by NBC’s decision to cancel us,” creator Jeff Rake said at the time, announcing his hope to save the series. “That we’ve been shut down in the middle is a gut punch to say the least. Hoping to find a new home. You the fans deserve an ending to your story. Thanks for the love shown to me, cast, and crew.”

My dear Manifesters,

I’m devastated by NBC’s decision to cancel us. That we’ve been shut down in the middle is a gut punch to say the least. Hoping to find a new home. You the fans deserve an ending to your story. Thanks for the love shown to me, cast, and crew. #savemanifest

Along with Rake, Manifest fans had thought Netflix would be the perfect platform to pick up the series for a fourth season. Recently, the series has become one of the most-watched titles on the streamer with its first two seasons available. This did lead to negotiations for Netflix to potentially save the show, but on Monday, series star Josh Dalls revealed to his followers on Twitter that the talks have fallen through.

“Well, my #manifesters, I’m sorry to say that it’s the end of the line for now,” Dallas said. “We are so proud to have brought you this story over 3 seasons. We so wished we could’ve finished the journey with you. But it wasn’t in the cards. Thanks to our incredible EP’s, producers, writers, directors, stunning cast and the best damn crew in the business. Thanks to @warnerbrostv and @nbc for giving us a home. And lastly, thank you to the fans who embraced Manifest and these characters and flew with us on #flight828. I love you all… onwards! Ben Stone, out.”

Another tweet from Rake adds: “Manifest Gratitude, Final Edition. Thank YOU, our fans. You became the Manifesters at Comic-Con 2018. Ever since, you’ve watched religiously, parsed every word, cried a lot, laughed a little, puzzle-solved, and never, ever, wavered in your support. I’ll never forget it.”

“Oh, to put into words the last three years,” tweeted Michaela Stone actress Melissa Roxburgh. “Thanks for everyone who joined on with us. I’m forever grateful for the family of misfits and creators that wound up at Silvercup studios. When you film a show, you spend all day every day with these people. They truly become your family, your friends, your therapists, your entertainment….everything. You guys have no idea what you’ll forever mean to me. I’ve had some of the greatest days of my life on the stages of Manifest, playing pretend with people who have seeped into my heart.”

It’s unfortunate for fans of the series that Manifest will not get a proper ending, especially after three seasons of investment. Presumably, Netflix is wishing the grieving cast members the best of luck with all of their future endeavors. The first two seasons are currently available to watch on the platform.
