Obi-Wan Kenobi Rumor Claims the Jedi Master is Tracked Down by New, Young Jedi

A newly emerged rumor claims that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be brought back into the Star Wars fray thanks to the actions of a young aspiring Jedi. The rumor, which comes courtesy of Making Star Wars, suggests that the Disney+ series will find the character living quietly as “Ben Kenobi,” before being tracked down by a young Jedi named Nari, who decides to find the Jedi Master after being inspired by a message sent by Obi-Wan to his fellow Jedi Knights during the chaos caused by the infamous Order 66.

According to the report, Obi-Wan Kenobi has become an expert at staying hidden, and while prior rumors have claimed that the Star Wars hero will be discovered by Darth Vader and the Inquisitors due to his relationship with Luke Skywalker, this is apparently untrue. Instead, Obi-Wan has been living safely and successfully under the radar until “a young Jedi straggler named Nari finds his way to Tatooine. Inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s message from the Jedi beacon, he has a been on a decade long quest of his own. He wants to find Obi-Wan Kenobi, achieve refuge, and restore the Jedi Order.”

Nari, unaware that Obi-Wan is watching over and protecting the son of Darth Vader, endangers the Jedi Master’s mission when he decides to track him down. This leads to The Inquisitors, who the report says are aware of Nari’s “quest to reunite with Kenobi and restore the Jedi Order,” sensing Obi-Wan Kenobi and thus bringing the might of Vader and the Dark Side to Owen Lars’ door.

The report continues, claiming that this is where Leia will be brought into the fold. “When Bail Organa asks Obi-Wan Kenobi to leave Tatooine on a mission to save ten-year-old Princess Leia, Kenobi realizes there is an advantage to leaving Luke’s proximity.” By leaving Tatooine, Obi-Wan believes he can draw the Dark Side and the Empire away from Luke, with Kenobi knowing that “Leia is as important as Luke and it will pull the Jedi hunters off world. The advantages of leaving far outweigh the risk of staying.”

Ewan McGregor Has Assured Fans that Obi-Wan Kenobi Will Satisfy Star Wars Fans

Disney

Obi-Wan Kenobi sees Ewan McGregor reprise the role of the Star Wars icon, with the actor recently heaping praise on director Deborah Chow, and assuring fans that the Disney+ limited will satisfy. “It was a great experience. Deborah Chow directed all the episodes and she’s really good,” the actor said. “She directed a couple [episodes] of The Mandalorian and she’s a really great director. She really knows the Star Wars world, inside out, far more than I do (laughs). We just had a great time. I think it’s no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was just fantastic to work with him again. I’m not going to give away anything else about the storyline, only I think it’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi is scheduled to premiere on May 25, 2022 on Disney+, and will consist of six episodes.
