Patti LuPone has just been cast in the WandaVision spinoff series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Another name has just been announced for the cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the upcoming WandaVision spinoff series starring a returning Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. Per Deadline, Patti LuPone has just joined the cast for an undisclosed role, but the rumor is she will be playing a witch. Her casting comes after the recent announcement that Aubrey Plaza would be making her MCU debut in the series as well with other stars including Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, and Sasheer Zamata. Emma Caulfield Ford also says she’ll be returning as WandaVision’s Dottie.
LuPone’s casting might suggest that some big plans are in store for the music of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. That wouldn’t be surprising, as WandaVision previously won the Emmy for its original song “Agatha All Along.” If so, LuPone’s talents and experience from musical theater will prove to be useful. She has won three Tony Awards along with two Olivier Awards and two Grammys.

LuPone can also be recognized by her many acting roles, in recent years appearing in TV shows like American Horror Story, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Pose, and Hollywood. She has also appeared in a variety of films, including classics like 1941 and Driving Miss Daisy. Most recently, she appeared in Netflix’s The School for Good and Evil and will next appear in the upcoming comedy-horror film Beau Is Afraid alongside Joaquin Phoenix.

Agatha Gets Her Own Spinoff Series
Disney+
It’s not a big shock to see Disney+ moving forward with more from the characters of WandaVision, given how successful the series was upon its release. In addition to pulling in high viewership, the series was a big hitter at awards season, going up for eight Primetime Emmy Awards. That includes an acting nom for Kathryn Hahn, who will be leading Agatha: Coven of Chaos. She also won Best Fight (shared with Elizabeth Olsen) along with Best Villain at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Meanwhile, another planned spinoff for WandaVision is also in the works. The spinoff will reportedly be called Vision Quest and follow Paul Bettany as The Vision, while Jac Schaeffer would be on board as head writer. However, the series hasn’t been officially announced by Disney and Marvel Studios at this time.
