Ryan Murphy and Kim Kardashian’s Hulu Legal Drama All’s Fair Loses Halle Berry

It looks like Halle Berry is no longer on the case with Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close. The actress was set to star in a new legal drama produced by Kardashian and Ryan Murphy for Hulu, but just as quickly as Berry was announced to be attached, the actress has already departed the project.

Per Deadline, Berry will no longer be starring in All’s Fair, a legal drama that sees Murphy and Kardashian teaming up again after their successful collaboration on American Horror Story, Delicate. Berry’s reasons for exiting are far from salacious, as it appears that it all comes down to a scheduling conflict for the actress. The news of her exit comes a mere week after she was announced to be joining the series.

All’s Fair Would’ve Been Halle Berry’s First Small-Screen Project Since 2014

All’s Fair, which is said to be led by Kardashian, follows a successful divorce lawyer in Los Angeles who is also the owner of an all-female law firm. The show is described as “a high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural.” The exact role that Berry was to play in the series is uncertain, but it has been reported that it will be recast. Had Berry joined the show, it would’ve been her first small screen role since starring in the Steve Spielberg-produced science fiction drama, Extant, which ran for two seasons on CBS back in 2014.

Halle Berry turned in iconic performances as Storm and Catwoman, both of which she said she’d return to. Here’s a list of her other best ones.

Kardashian garnered some unexpectedly positive reviews for her performance in the latest season of American Horror Story. The initial announcement of the reality star joining the long-running franchise was met with a lukewarm reception, but the arrival of the series seemed to change the opinions of many very quickly. In the series, she portrayed Siobhan Corbyn, a friend and publicist of Emma Roberts’ Anna Victoria Alcott, a pregnant actress who is growing increasingly paranoid about her pregnancy. The collaboration was the first between Murphy and Kardashian, which sparked a creative relationship that led to the creation of All’s Fair for Hulu.

As for Berry, the Oscar-winning actress has been keeping busy and currently has two projects set for release within the next couple of months. She can next be seen opposite Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix action film, The Union, out on August 16. The film follows construction worker Mike (Wahlberg), who is pulled into a world of espionage by a woman named Roxanne (Berry), his former high school girlfriend. Also on deck for Berry is Never Let Go from Lionsgate, a horror film directed by Alexandre Aja that follows a family who has been tormented by a malicious spirit for years which leads to a treacherous fight for survival. Never Let Go hits screens on September 27.

All’s Fair does not yet have a release date, so it is unclear whether Berry’s departure will have an impact on the production schedule.
