Days ahead of the season 3 finale of Snowpiercer, we have an exclusive photo to unveil. Shown above, the image gives us a peek at Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) in the season finale that’s set to air on TNT on Monday, March 28. In the anticipated conclusion of the season, which will help to set up the events in the upcoming season 4, it “all comes to a head as old adversaries clash, with New Eden hanging in the balance.”
A post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, Snowpiercer stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black- ish). The series is based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel series and the film from Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). Snowpiercer is executive produced by Graeme Manson, Aubrey Nealon, Christoph Schrewe, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, Matthew O’Connor, Ben Rosenblatt and Scott Derrickson, and the original film’s producers, including Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios, along with CJ Entertainment. ITV Studios handles international distribution.

At the end of Snowpiercer season 2, Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Ruth (Alison Wright), who were banished to Big Alice’s compost car, plotted to take back Snowpiercer. With the help of Javier (Roberto Urbina) and Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard), Layton and Ruth made it back to Snowpiercer and rallied with their supporters. Josie (Katie McGuiness) destroyed the Aquarium car, separating Snowpiercer’s head from the remaining 1,023 cars.
The “wild” third season picks up with Layton (Diggs) and his inner circle commanding a small 10 car “pirate train” in search of Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) and a possible warm location to restart civilization; while back on Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is consolidating power, awaiting Layton’s return. Season three cast members also include Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha, Battle of the Sexes), Iddo Goldberg (Westworld, Peaky Blinders), Steven Ogg (Better Call Saul, Westworld), Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Bojack Horseman), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories), Mike O’Malley (Heels, Glee, Yes, Dear), Sam Otto (The State), Sheila Vand (The OA), Chelsea Harris (Top Gun: Maverick) and three-time Emmy nominee Archie Panjabi (Departure, Star Wars: The Bad Batch).

Snowpiercer Has Been Renewed for Season 4 on TNT
TNT
The third season is soon coming to an end, but the good news is that we are far from the end of this story. TNT has already renewed Snowpiercer for a fourth season with its renewal announced last summer. The news was not a big shock, given the continued popularity of the series coupled with its high ratings.
“Snowpiercer has been an incredibly successful series for us that continues to capture the imagination of viewers, grow audience and maintain strong ratings,” Sam Linsky and Adrienne O’Riain, co-heads of scripted original programming for TBS, TNT and truTV, said in a statement at the time “All of our seasons embark on an emotional, unexpected ride and the well-plotted storylines will continue to evolve and remain relevant to audiences. We’re excited to keep the train running into season 4.”
Snowpiercer will air its season 3 finale on Monday, March 28, on TNT. Season 4 does not yet have a premiere date. You can find out more about the show at the official website.
