The second season of The Bear has arrived on Hulu, and it couldn’t have had a better first reaction with the critics at Rotten Tomatoes. It has pulled in a perfect score of 100% on the Tomatometer, garnering a positive review from every critic who has reviewed the new season at this point. That matches the first season, which also garnered (and still holds) a perfect score with Rotten Tomatoes critics. The audience scores are also very high, as season 2 currently sits at 93%, up a notch from season 1’s current score of 91%.
“The Bear remains a remarkably confident study of growth, treating its characters with a tender generosity as they mature,” writes Shirley Li of The Atlantic. “It’s a fist held over a heart, drawing a circle, reminding its viewers that in time, clarity can come from chaos.”

Agreeing that season 2 continues what made the first season so wonderful, Joshua Rivera of Polygon adds, “The Bear remains a showcase for excellent performances…every line of dialogue is delivered against the din of people working in the background, and characters shine through movement above all else.”
“This is a newer, polished season,” as Therese Lacson of Collider puts it. “It is one that, like the eponymous new restaurant, has evolved past its rougher beginnings to turn out another course that leaves us hungry for more.”
And as Akos Peterbencze of Paste Magazine writes, “The Bear remains one of the best original shows on TV, even if the performances often outmatch and rise above the writing this time around. With such a talented cast, it’s not that surprising that Season 2 lets it rip once again.”
