One of the iconic locations from Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things is now hitting the real estate market. One lucky fan could have the opportunity to buy the Byers house, belonging to Will (Noah Schnapp), Joyce (Winona Ryder), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) in the show. In the fictional world of the show, the Byers’ house is located in Hawkins, Indiana. In real life, you can find the house in Fayetteville, Georgia.
On Stranger Things, the Byers family home was a destination until the very end of season 3, when they decided to move to California. It was the site of several key moments that occurred during the first season. For instance, there’s Will’s abduction, which kicked off the show’s entire plot. Joyce learning to communicate with Will using Christmas lights. And the big fight between the Demogorgon (Mark Streger) against Jonathan, Nancy Wheeler (Natalie Dyer), and Steve Harrington (Joe Keery).

Resting on 6 acres and possessing 1,846 square feet of property, the home went on the market on Monday, September 19th. It is described as being perfect for an Airbnb, short-term rental, or personal rental for someone willing to take it on. The listing also says that you could get a “HUGE” return on investment (ROI) with the right owner.
What You’re In For
The home is being sold “AS-IS” with no seller disclosure and is for “SERIOUS buyers only.” If you wish to receive a tour of the home, you need to schedule a showing with your agent. In the event that you do not have an agent, you would need to call the listing agent to set up a showing. The listing price is $300,000.
The high price for a home that the listing by Exp Realty calls in need of “a full rehab” does have justification when you look at the real estate “collectibles” of the past. The real-life house from The Conjuring sold for over a million. The original Nightmare on Elm Street house sold for $3.2 million in 2021. The Golden Girls house has been listed for sale at $2.999 million. The iconic locations of Hollywood have always been commodities.
There is also a number of famous sites that have become big tourist destinations in the wake of being used in people’s favorite movies or television series to consider. Such as the Bronx stairwell where Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoneix) did his happy dance in DC’s Joker. Or the cabin belonging to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in Avengers: Endgame. The Airbnb listing for the latter starts at $335 per night, according to ComicBook.com.
According to the listing, ever since the show aired, fans have traveled far and wide almost daily to drive by and get a picture of the location. The previous owners eventually had to put up a driveway barricade and “Private Property” sign in order to keep people from trespassing. So potential buyers should bear that in mind when deciding if they want to live in the house.
