Before Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power stole the spotlight for fantasy fans on Prime Video, The Wheel of Time was proof that epic medieval adventures rife with magic, darkness, and violence could work with no problem in the world of streaming platforms.
The series starring Rosamund Pike debuted on the service in 2021 and was quickly renewed for a second installment, which currently has no release date. However, with an incredible production spread, stunning scenery, wonderful costumes and makeup, and a high budget, it seems there are still a few months left until we get to see the new episodes.

However, thanks to one of its protagonists, we already have some clues about what will come in the new installment. Marcus Rutherford, who plays Perrin Aybara on the show, revealed during an interview with Leftlion that the second season of the series will be even more brutal:
They’ve started to accept and have faith in the prophecy and their destiny, so there’s more of a maturity to them. It’s darker too, more real and a bit more brutal. The innocence of those kids we find in the village in Episode 1 is long gone, and they’re becoming a bit more grown-up. I’m really excited for people to see it.
In addition, the actor confirmed that there will be a time jump, which is logical considering that the books on which it is based have a few months of separation in the plot from the first to the second one.

This is how the group begins a new adventure where they all flee from the shadow forces while trying to safely reach the city of the Aes Sedai.
In addition to Pike and Rutherford, the series stars Kae Alexander, Naana Agyei Ampadu, Hammed Animashaun, Pasha Bocarie, Priyanka Bose, Lolita Chakrabarti, Darren Clarke, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kate Fleetwood, Peter Franzén, Jennifer Cheon and Stuart Graham.
