ESPN+ is set to air a multi-part documentary on the legendary quarterback next month. The upcoming docuseries will reveal Tom Brady’s “personal first-hand accounts” of his 10 Super Bowl appearances between the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Man in the Arena was first announced by ESPN earlier this year in May 2021. It has now been confirmed that the upcoming docuseries will be releasing next month on November 16, 2021. You can check out the official trailer for Man in the Arena: Tom Brady below.
“After 21 seasons in the NFL, Tom Brady will share a personal first-hand account of his ten Super Bowl appearances,” ESPN wrote in a press release. “In a groundbreaking new series coming to ESPN+, Tom deconstructs the milestones of his legendary career, mining the psychological and emotional terrain of each victory and defeat. Each episode focuses on a single Super Bowl appearance and centers not just on the pivotal moments, but everything that leads to them, illustrating the series of small steps that seem insignificant at the time, but when reflected upon, show the distance traveled.”

Man in the Arena is directed and coproduced by Gotham Chopra for Religion of Sports. The docuseries is also coproduced by ESPN and 199 Productions. Tom Brady himself had released a statement speaking about the upcoming docuseries, “Every episode covers the highs and the lows from my 10 Super Bowl seasons, including 2007, unfortunately. But I think you’re going to love it and I can’t wait for y’all to check it out.” This past week, ESPN released a brand new clip giving fans a first look of what’s to come, which you can also check out below.
The official synopsis reads as, “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady is a 9-episode series that will focus on Brady’s first-hand account of the most iconic moments of his NFL career, including each of his 9 Super Bowl appearances with the New England Patriots, along with the smaller, seemingly insignificant instances that became pivotal events and paved the path for Brady’s journey.” Man in the Arena will also feature exclusive interviews with Rob Gronkowski, Gisele Bundchen, Tedy Bruschi, Randy Moss, and many more. Man in the Arena arrives three years after the release of the Facebook documentary series Tom vs Time, which focused on Tom Brady’s off-season regimen, as well as his home life spent with his family.
Tom Brady had won his seventh Super Bowl ring this past season, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to its first Super Bowl title since 2002 during his very first season in Florida. Brady played in his previous nine Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, where he won a total of six Super Bowl rings alongside his head coach Bill Belichick. He just recently revisited Gillette Stadium as a Buccaneer.
