The Most Jaw-Dropping British Royal Mysteries That Remain UNSOLVED!

Despite all eyes on the royals for centuries, there are still so many unsolved mysteries surrounding their family!!! Some of these are jaw-dropping!

Scroll down (below) to get caught up on the wildest theories out there!

Was Queen Elizabeth I A Murderer?!

This is a crazy one, y’all! Some people think Queen Elizabeth I may have allegedly been a murderer — for love!

Before she was crowned in 1558, Elizabeth got along well with Robert Dudley, her master of the horse. Loads of people thought they’d make a great pair… if it weren’t for the fact he was already married to Amy Robsart!

But tragedy — or a carefully enacted plan?? — struck on September 9, 1560, when Amy was found dead at her home! She was found at the bottom of a staircase, reportedly discovered with head injuries and a broken neck, though she was still wearing a perfectly placed headdress.

The shocking death sparked tons of rumors about what happened, and a lot of people actually thought that Robert was so in love with Elizabeth that he might’ve been willing to kill his wife to remarry! OMG!

If this was a true crime plot for romance, it didn’t work. The Queen’s advisors, who never agreed to a romance with Robert, used the scandal to their advantage and ensured the pair didn’t get together, insisting the controversy was too much for the monarch to get involved with.

Another theory disputing the murder allegations is the sad claim that Amy was depressed and experienced suicidal thoughts. She’s even said to have told all her aides to leave on the day of her death to attend an event while she stayed home alone.

Historians are still divided on what happened to this day, though a formal coroner’s report indicated it was an accidental death.

Did Princess Louise Have A Secret Son?

Queen Victoria’s fifth child, Princess Louise, and her husband John Campbell did not have any children. Or did she?

There’s long been a rumor that she allegedly gave birth at age 18 to a son with her brother’s tutor! The rumor stems from the fact that the royal obstetrician’s son adopted a newborn named Henry, who would go on to tell his kids he was the son of Louise. That said, there will never be any confirmation. Henry’s descendants fought hard in court twice to gain the right to test Henry’s DNA to prove they were related to Queen Victoria, but were denied.

Princess Louise’s private files, unlike her siblings’, are closed to the public. Maybe one day those will expose the truth…

Was Jack The Ripper A Royal?

Umm… This would be SHOCKING! In one of the most wild conspiracy theories, some think Prince Albert Victor was the notorious criminal Jack the Ripper! WTF!

Albert, nicknamed Eddy, was the grandson of Queen Victoria and the eldest son of King Edward VII. He was never king and died at age 28 due to influenza in 1892. However, some think he might’ve really died of syphilis — and committed murders due to syphilitic insanity, though there is no proof this is the case. There’s also the theory that the royal family was trying to cover up his alleged secret family with a Catholic commoner, which, again, there is no proof for.

If you don’t know, Jack the Ripper has been accused of killing at least five women in the Whitechapel area of London in 1888. His identity has never been confirmed.

So, could Eddy have been involved?! It’s highly unlikely! Importantly, many historians have blasted these theories as complete BS because there are verifiable accounts that Eddy was far away from London during the murders.

Is King Charles’ Family Cursed?

Some people think Queen Victoria’s second daughter, Princess Alice, might have been cursed — and it could affect modern-day royals!

As for why people think Alice was cursed, a lot of bad stuff happened to her and her family, beginning with her two-year-old son Friedrich fatally falling from a window of her second-story bedroom in 1873. Very tragic. Diphtheria, a serious bacterial infection, would later get her whole household sick, killing her and her 4-year-old daughter Marie. Alice’s daughter Alix and her sister Elisabeth were then murdered by the Bolsheviks, and Alice’s grandson, Louis Mountbatten, was killed by the IRA.

So, how does this connect to Charles? Well, it’s thought Mountbatten’s death might’ve been what connected his nephew, then-Prince Charles, with Princess Diana. They ultimately got married — though it was a disaster. And tragically, Diana later died in a devastating car crash. A lot of heartbreak and tragedy for one family line. We hope the curse isn’t real!

Some shocking mysteries, right?? Which one is gonna haunt you forever until it’s solved? Tell us (below)!
